Mother’s Day

2011.05.10

What a great day.  My husband and I took the princess to Central Park.  We played, took pictures, hugged and kissed her.  Had a spontaneous lunch at Shake Shack and just generally had a great day!  Here is what I wore… when we get the professional pictures, I will add them here!

I loved this outfit!  So glad I got it.

OOTD Denim Dress!

2011.04.28

So, there are few things that I obsess over for years.  I can usually find what I want and get it immediately, but a denim dress, it has to speak to me.  I have been looking for YEARS for the perfect denim dress and this year, Calvin Klein has woken up and made the correct dress for me!  I am a member of Ideeli and they have Plus Size sales every once in a while.  When they do, I always score on amazing things, Calvin, Juicy, Dona Ricco, you get the picture.  I never see a Plus Size sale and walk away empty handed.  So I was able to score this Calvin Klein denim dress that I had just been watching on Nordstrom for half the price!  I put it together with some amazing personalized jewelry from my gal Iris at CrowandIris on Etsy.  She always had beautiful jewelry and I bother her a few times a year for personalized necklaces.  She made the necklace I had on yesterday with the beautiful citrine.  Out version of a “mom” necklace.  Anyway, Corso Como shoes again and a bunch of other Etsy necklaces that were purchased years ago and remind me of Paris!

What do you think?  How’d I do?

Transitional Maternity

2010.07.10

A whole bunch of my friends and I are currently pregnant.  That means we are all trading secrets on what to wear and how to get through each trimester without spending too much money on clothing.

I am big on dresses, thanks to my friend, we will call her the Good Doctor.  She reminds me all the time that if you have a dress on your outfit is complete and you are definitely coordinated and matching.  No more effort must go into your top or bottom unless you need a shrug or some funky jewelry.  We all know I am all about the jewelry.

I also think that if you get some cute skirts or have some in the closet, and throw on a tank or two, you will be good to go.  That is my current go to style to hilight the bump in this nasty Tropical heat we are currently experiencing in NYC.

I picked out a couple of dress styles that you may already have in your closet, especially Empire waisted dresses…They are really my favorite kind of dress.  They normally hide a belly after a good meal but now, they can keep you looking trim in your first trimester if you wanted to keep the bump under wraps.  They are also transitional into the fall/winter with some tights and a great sweater!

Macy’s, Gap, Old Navy, Nordstrom, Zappos, JC Penny, just to name a few.  Check out Etsy also for some adorable home made dresses that will be customized for your four trimester party!  I got some cute caftans from a sweet girl, Shikha that will work with me in the third trimester when I want something super soft and she added hooks so I can use them to nurse when I come home from the hospital.  I love them and they keep me cool and relaxed for the heat now and will keep me comfortable in the Winter when the peanut and I are hanging out in the nursery.

Do you have any go to styles that you love for maternity wear?
