Mazie's Method

Here I go again making a list of things I would like in my hospital bag.  I am always wanting something it seems, but with all the fabulous luxuries out there, why shouldn’t someone want to surround themselves properly?

First, cashmere slippers.  Mama is gonna need a new pair of slippers for the shuffling around the hospital and for those late night feedings.  I think that these Patricia Green Cashmere slippers fit the bill.  I am pretty sure that they will keep my tootsies nice and cozy when I am spending time with my princess.

Next, we will need a robe, obviously.  There is only one robe that  I wear in the winter.  It keeps me super warm and cozy.  I would not be able to wear another ever again.  Barefoot Dreams Cozy Chic robe is the way to go.  It’s beautiful and soft and thick and washes so well it gets softer and softer with each wash.  I never thought that something to soft would be able to get softer.  I currently have one in brown that my awesome sister in law bought me last Christmas, but when the time comes, a cream colored replacement to match the slippers above will be fine with me

How convenient that there is a blanket for the nursery by Barefoot Dreams.  They also do make children’s wear and rest assured my darling will be swaddled in one of those cozy outfits.  Only the finest for her Majesty.  Love this blankey in pink.  Need to have it for over the glider when I am nursing her at night during the winter.

Every new mom needs some super soft jammies.   I found a few different pairs that I like, but  I think these from La Leche League are the sweetest ones.  It’s a set and it will be good for when you are warm and cool and you can change the tops up a bit for the temperature.  I’m also loving this set for when I come home because Iwill be able to regulate the temperature here, and of course, they are pink!

I’m probably not going ot have a sleek blow out for my hair that day and being in labor will probably not be conducive to having straight hair, so there must be a headband to hold the hair back for those first pictures of the family.

I’d like a cosmetic bag to hold some basics.  I’m not one to hang around without makeup.  I am kinda loving this one from Coach.  My list of must have’s is here at La Grande Dame’s blog. That bag and those essentials will be in there for when I am in that nasty hospital lighting that is definitely unflattering.

Ladies and Gents…

Menswear is all the rage…outside of the bedroom and I am a fan of it all around.  In the bedroom, I am a huge fan of Brooks Brothers men’s pajamas.  I am partial to stripes.  I can’t get enough of them.  I love prints of all types, but stripes are my thing.  I really feel sexy in men’s pajamas.  I am not sure why, but I think it exudes a certain amount of confidence.  I know, you say who needs confidence in the bedroom.  Well, I think that you should have confidence in all aspects of your life.  Here’s the link to the lovely jammies… They’re a splurge, but worth it!

After a long day at work, the last thing I want to do is come home to clothing that is uncomfortable.  I am known for immediately putting on my jammies.  This may not be the best of habits, but, I do it.  I admit to it.  I do not deny it.  I am a creature of habit and I love to be comfy.  My slippers and robes and pj’s are always waiting and ready for me to slip right into them.  

Since I love to buy on sale, and only on sale, I generally get my jammies on sale at Century 21.  For Midnight by Carole Hochman, since she is expensive, I hit Century.  She has two lines.  Her regular line which is called Carole Hochman and then her “luxury” line called Midnight: both available on QVC.com.  Century generally has Midnight for half price

Old Navy and Gap are also two favorites for nighties and cute little pj sets.  They are great for soft cotton and lacy cami’s.  Their sales are so good, I don’t mind restocking for each season for the camis.

Back to my friends at Soma.com their pj’s are SUPER SOFT!  You should definitely check out their bamboo collection.  It is awesome.  Their pj’s are definite favorites!  

Softsurroundings.com has lovely jammies and clothing.  Check them out.  They can be pricey.

Nordstrom has a great selection of brands and pretty decent sales.  I think their website is very good because it has the most selection of sizes and their customer service is fantastic also.  

And back to my favorite site, Etsy.com… a great little Etsy store called Intima.  She works with you and makes beautiful custom made pj’s….
