Today is my big day.  I am now *in* my thirties.  I have finally figured a few things out.  What clothes I love, what shoes I adore, what brands are my favorites.  Even what underwear fits me best.  The one thing I cannot decide on is what should I ask for as my birthday present.  My husband, the peach, has promised to take me to 5th Avenue and let me decide.  He has one helpful hint, he told me it should be jewelry.  I felt so indecisive last year for my 30th, that I never picked out a gift, so this is a gift for two.

Certainly, you say, a Fashionphile, and Francophile like myself has a list of covetable objects, a wish list, if you may.  A Bently Continental GT hard top in black velvet with chrome accents.  A Penthouse overlooking the Eiffel Tower.  The entire Chanel Jewelry line.  Anything Yves Saint Laurent.  A pink diamond Schlumberger/ Schiaparell ring from Tiffany & Co, but I cannot nail down a piece of jewelry from Cartier.  You see, my love affair with Cartier started years ago, but all things 5th Avenue seemed out of reach until my husband bought me my Tank Francaise for our first Christmas.

He walked me into Cartier last year for my birthday with my single wish in hand.  The Love bracelet, pink gold, with a pink sapphire accent.  The lady on 5th Avenue had promised the previous December that it existed.  My 30th birthday would be marked with Love and when we walked in and requested to see that particular bracelet, the salesperson said “Oh, we only have the pink gold/pink sapphire combo in a cuff.”   Herein lies the problem.  I lose things.  I practically started to cry.  My husband tried to bribe me with other beautiful baubles from Cartier.  What girl would have said no to this and that, and other beautiful shiny objet d’art.  He walked me into Chanel, I said no.  YSL, nope.  You get the point.  Sadly, 30 was marked with me being indecisive.

This year, I have done my research, my wish list is longer and more varied.  Let’s see what we come home with today in that beautiful red and gold box…

When the weather cools, I love to start accessorizing.  I accessorize all year long, but in the Fall, something in the air makes me grab my necklaces even more.  To me, there is nothing more wonderful than a great pair of jeans, a chunky sweater, boots and some beautiful jewelry.  I love pieces that say something and I really think that this season is perfect for the fashionista that loves large statement jewelry.

In my search of pretties, I have come across two necklaces that are virtually identical.  One is designer, and one is handmade.  Personally, I try to go with handmade to support local artists, because I am one.  *shameless plug* for Mazie Rose.  But in all honesty, I like to have something that is one of a kind (OOAK) and I know no one else will have it.
