Fall Maternity Favorites

2010.09.05

So, since I am in my third trimester in my most favorite time of the year, I figured I would share some of my most favorite maternity goodies with you on my blog.  I did some internet shopping damage since I will be wearing these clothes in the 4th trimester also while nursing and going back to work.

I have some super fantastic maternity jeans from Old Navy and they are rocking the party right with being able to wear them after I give birth to my princess sometime between October and November.  They are very comfy, stretch, and have a full panel to make things easier when I pull them up over my rapidly expanding belly!

Next, are some wrap tops that I found on Gap and they are in such a beautiful plum color that I couldn’t pass them up.  I need them since I plan on nursing and or pumping and I will need easy access to the ladies, they are no longer considered girls in my book :)

Obviously I am going to need some dresses because we all know that I will be throwing on my Spanx tights and my wrap dresses and knee high boots to make myself look and feel better. This denim shirt dress makes me giggle.  I love denim dresses.  It’s a way to be casual and fabulous all at once and the buttons down the front are perfect for my needs!

Chunky Cardi… Not so much!

Calvin Klein Cardi

So one of my faithful followers asked a burning question last night…How do we wear sweaters in this super chilly weather and not look bulky?

My darlings, I have the answer…at least I can tell you what works for me…layer (read: cashmere).  Because I am a buxom babe, I prefer to wear layers of thinner materials.  I hardly ever wear turtlenecks, because I have a large bust and it makes my bust look larger.  So, usually, it is a v  or u neck and sometimes I will change it up and wear a boatneck.  Generally, I will wear a tank top, a long sleeved shirt, then a sweater over it.  I always top it off with a scarf of some sort because my neck is *always* cold.

This gorgeous Calvin Klein boyfriend cardi is perfect for putting over a tank, tee and some leggings.  I can definitely agree with wearing this with black sweatpants or jeans.

I always hit Etsy up when I look for some beautiful hand made goodies.  I am lusting over this gorgeous Felted Wool Wrap Top.  I think investing in a piece like this for a staple is a good idea.  I am looking to decrease my closet and my collection and only invest in pieces that will go with everything.  I am definitely looking for quality and not quantity.  This winged cardigan is a work of art.  Please think about how beautiful a black version of this cardi would be with almost every outfit in your closet!  Maybe I will ask for it for Valentine’s Day!

Cashmere is always my go to when it is really cold and I do not want to add bulk.  I would always grab this cardi and go.  What a beautiful investment this is not to mention the matching pants!  Add some hot chocolate, a book and leave me at home for the weekend!

Gap is a go to when you want a cute, frilly, and ultra feminine cardigan.  This flowered number is on my wishlist for the Spring!  I love the choices of colors and the fact that it will be divine over a black outfit.  Can’t wait for it to go on sale!

Lane Bryant has a beautiful Tunic.  I would have added a long sleeved tee with this and of course some leggings.  Break out those slouchy knee high boots and you are good to go.

Don’t forget your scarf!

Stay sassy!

Lingerie During the Day?

2009.09.23

Going thru Century 21 the other day caused me to have an epiphany… it has been staring me in the face for years.  I love to try different things.  I am a chick who likes to shake it up, style wise, of course.  One day I can be classic secretary, the next edgy rocker, the following, boho chic.

Needless to say, this fall/winter I am rockin’ the tunic.  I am slightly obsessed with it, really.   I am very specific about my tunic.  It must cover the rear, be a certain material, and of course be worn with slim pants, jeans or leggings and boots.

In addition to the tunic or as a sassy alternative to it, I give you, the chemise.  I was suddenly surrounded by tons of new and fabulous additions to my wardrobe.  I can be sexy in http://tinyurl.com/ycfw7hc with jeans and a soft cashmere sweater.

Or

I can be well behaved and covered in this http://tinyurl.com/yasfvay and leggings, great pair of boots, scarf, slouchy sweater and maybe some gloves…

Or

I can forget the bra and wear this beauty http://tinyurl.com/ybxskqa.

Any way you slice it, it brings a beautiful element of surprise and sexy into your day…Naughty! ;)
